Preserving the ancestral heartbeat in Chicago
Bantu Entertainments’ mission is to bring people from diverse backgrounds together through a celebration of African and Caribbean culture. Our festivals, community-based events and culturally-rooted experiences showcase the richness of African and Caribbean heritage; they provide a space for people of all ethnicities to engage with each other, to learn about each other and to grow and develop as a result.
Bantu Entertainment was born out of a love of sharing culture. It has evolved into a respected presence within the Chicago community. As such, Bantu Entertainment has made it its mission to ensure that the traditions are kept alive, and that local artists and entrepreneurs are supported. In addition to this, we aim to create cultural experiences that will inspire pride, understanding and unity among the communities we work in.
The main event that we host at Bantu Entertainment is Bantu Fest – which is now one of the largest celebrations of African and Caribbean culture in Chicago. The festival features live music and traditional dancing, artisan markets selling handcrafted goods and food from around the world, educational exhibits showcasing the history and traditions of Africa and the Caribbean, as well as many fun and interactive activities for families. At Bantu Fest, we are able to reflect our commitment to honoring heritage while embracing the diversity that enriches our communities.
In addition to Bantu Fest, Bantu Entertainment works with a variety of organizations, schools, businesses and community leaders to co-ordinate cultural events and programs. Whether we’re working on a large scale festival or providing an educational experience, our objective is always the same – to create genuine opportunities that allow participants to engage with different aspects of culture in ways that will have long-lasting positive impacts on them.
